As mentioned in TORC’s Mission Statement, we are committed to Stock Outboard racing through a variety of initiatives intended to bring new people to our exciting environment, be it competitors, officials or spectators. Part of these initiatives are Schools. These are administered by some of Canada’s top competitors, racing Champions, and experienced CBF Officials, who volunteer their time to share their knowledge. So let TORC be your stepping stone to a successful and exciting experience in the world of powerboat racing.

Take a look at the courses listed below and let TORC assist you in starting your career in having some hands on fun at the races.

Designed for the new-comer to outboard racing, TORC's Driver School aims to teach interested participants the fundamentals of outboard racing including basic regatta format and safety rules. Veteran TORC members conduct classroom training with handouts and PowerPoint presentations on track layout, starting techniques, race format and much more.  Classroom curriculum is followed by dry land discussion/practice on how to get a race boat on plane and drive a race boat.  Then you take to the water and receive one-on-one coaching while putting the newly learned skills into practice. All safety and racing equipment is provided.  Upon completion of the Driver School, students will have been taught the skills and knowledge to compete in an outboard racing event.
